Polygamy
Why did God allow polygamy? Is “a portion of the Spirit” between them as well? (Mal 2:15) How could a polygamous marriage be considered valid in God’s eyes?
How could God allow polygamous marriages as valid, especially when Jesus wouldn't even accept divorce under any circumstance except infidelity? It's like being a player, except officialized, which is even worse.
Why couldn't a woman have plural husbands? (Nothing in the OT forbade it.) Put them together, and group marriage would also be OK, according to the logic of the OT.
How can a man and his plural wives be "one flesh"? (Mt 19:5)
Why did God allow concubinage and consider that a valid form of marriage and sexual relations, so that a woman had to suffer under the lower status of not being a full wife? (Ex 21:7-11) Besides this, I don't even understand this concept. What's the essential difference between wife and concubine, and why would this be?
Why did God condone polygamy by allowing Abimelech’s female slaves to have children? (Gn 20:17)
So will David and all the other polygamists be punished for their polygamy? They got all the benefits of a different woman every night, while men after the new covenant must be satisfied with just one.
