The Trinity
Verse Observations: Zec 12:10, I Cor 8:6
*role of the Holy Spirit - Heb 9:14
Angel of the Lord is God (Hos 12:3-4)
Why is there a trinity?
Why do only humans exhibit the godlike relationship of family (father and son), but not angels? Or does God only talk about himself in this manner as a concession to our human limitations?
What’s the difference between “made” and “begotten”? (Nicene Creed, Ps 2:7) Why does it say "today" as if Jesus had previously not existed?
Why does it say "become", as if Jesus had once been lower than the angels? (Heb 1:4)
Now why should the relationship between the Father and Son be such? Because this is a very human relationship and why should the divine be restricted to what's human? (Unless, of course, it's the other way around, and there are human fathers and sons because of the Divine Father and Son.)
What distinguishes the Father from the Son? I know that the Son is submissive to the Father (Jn 5:19), but why? What about their natures makes this appropriate?
What's this about God the Father from and for whom are all things and God the Son, through whom are all things and through which all things exist? (I Cor 8:6)
How did God create the world through Christ? (Heb 1:2)
What is the nature of the Son? We know that he is so submissive to the Father that even he has to pray to him, just like we do. Though he, being God, has power, he does nothing on his own power but is completely submissive to the will of his Father, praying that his will be done.
Why can’t Jesus speak without authority from the Father? (Jn 5:19, 30, 7:16-17)
Why does Jesus get authority to judge because he's the Son of Man? (Jn 5:27)
Why does only the Father know the day and time of Jesus’ coming? Why aren’t others allowed to know, even Jesus? (Mt 24:36)
What was the nature of Jesus’ lack of godly powers while on earth? What were his limitations? (since he lived in a human body in a fallen world)
Why should Jesus have been subject to emotional changes and moral strength? He had the ability to be comforted by an angel. So after being comforted, he was a better person than before (in a way), but God is perfect, so what's going on? (Lk 22:43)
How has Jesus suffered when tempted? (Heb 2:18, Heb 4:15)
Now what’s up with this? If you see God the Father, you die. But if you only see his Son, though he is God, you don’t. Why is this? Shouldn’t there be a parallel? (Ex 33:18-23, Jdgs 6:22-23) Also, you would not die even if you saw him in his glory. (Mt 17:2-8)
Why wouldn’t the Holy Spirit come if Jesus hadn’t left? (Jn 16:7) I can't see how it would be an advantage not to have Jesus with them.
Why does it say "the Spirit of God" and not just "God"? (Gn 1:2)
How did Christ offer himself through the Spirit? (Heb 9:14)
